For the Millennium celebration in 2000, Ruinart released 14.000 spectacular magnums with an even more spectacular packaging: A wooden case made of African walnut, that can be converted into a cigar humidor, when you have consumed the champagne (assuming you smoke cigars). The champagne itself is a spectacular, blended from chardonnay of 5 top vintages (10% 1985, 10% 1986, 15% 1988, 40% 1990 and 25% 1993). The bottle is a replica of a 18th century original. The bottle is encased in a silver plated case by Paris silversmith Cristofle.
Richard Juhlin rates it 96 points (tasted May 2021). I tasted it in 2011 and rated it 96 points.
Note: This specimen has serial number 1752 and consists of magnum bottle, wooden case, 2 cushions, hygrometer and humidor caps.
